Walparuta

Walparuta, South Australia

LME’s Walparuta tenement package covers the large part of three Proterozoic crustal blocks associated with the Curnamona Province which is considered prospective for Broken Hill Type Pb-Zn-Ag deposits (BHT’s) and Iron Oxide Copper Gold deposits (IOCG’s). The prospect at Walparuta was historically drilled and intercepted SE dipping manto-style copper/gold anomalies associated with magnetite, biotite, K-feldspar alteration in the northern section of the Dead Horse Syncline. Rock chip geochemistry has also identified anomalous lead-zinc values in Paleoproterozoic psammopelite sediments which form the Dead Horse Syncline. Coincident magnetic and gravity anomalies have led LME to a drill target-test stage.
